What is White Copra
The dried white kernel of mature coconuts (Cocos nucifera), widely cultivated across tropical coastal regions of Indonesia.
White copra is produced from fully mature coconuts that are carefully dehusked, split, and processed to remove the brown testa layer, resulting in a clean, white interior. The kernels are then dried under controlled conditions to reduce moisture and preserve their natural oil content. Known for its high oil yield and clean appearance, white copra is an essential raw material for coconut oil extraction and various food and industrial applications.
In Indonesia, coconut palms typically begin bearing fruit within 4–6 years after planting, reaching peak productivity as they mature. Harvesting takes place throughout the year, as coconuts grow continuously in tropical climates. After collection, the coconuts are processed and dried to achieve the desired moisture level, ensuring stability during storage and shipment. Careful handling and proper drying practices are crucial to maintain quality, color, and oil content for export and further processing.
