1. Brazil
Brazil is the world’s largest coffee producing country, producing one third, or almost 40%, of the world’s coffee supply. Brazil’s coffee production amounts to more than 3.5 million tons, of which 69% is Arabica coffee and 31% Robusta coffee.
2. Vietnam
Vietnam is the second largest coffee producing country in the world, producing more than 1.8 million tons of coffee and contributing more than 17% of world coffee production, of which 95% is Robusta coffee and 5% Arabica coffee.
3. Colombia
Colombia is the third largest coffee producing country with coffee production of 858 thousand tons. Colombia accounts for 8% of world coffee production and is the second largest producer of Arabica coffee.
4. Indonesia
Indonesia is the fourth largest coffee producing country in the world, producing approximately 642 thousand tons. Indonesia contributes 6% of world coffee production, of which 91% is Robusta coffee and 9% Arabica coffee. Some of the rarest types of coffee in the world come from Indonesia, one of which is Kopi Luwak which is also one of the most expensive coffees.
5. Ethiopia
The fifth largest coffee producing country in the world is Ethiopia with coffee production of 441 thousand tons. Ethiopia accounts for 4% of world coffee production, most of which is Arabica coffee.
